OUR STORY

After a chance meeting in the autumn of 2021, we hit it off.  At similar points in our lives, with young families, and at a cross-roads in our careers, conversations lead to a realisation of joint aspirations for developing our own design studio. In early 2022 Project Studio was born.

With a combined 30 years’ experience in the field of Interior Design & Architecture, our careers had taken different paths after graduating from university.

Martin’s career, working for award winning architects and interior design studios in London & Manchester, predominantly focused on the remodelling of existing buildings to unlock their full architectural potential. Bookended with Lauren’s experience working for various sub-sectors of the industry, from contract/hospitality interiors, bespoke fitted furniture, and architectural joinery, and most recently working in the field of residential interior design, show homes, and home staging.

Our dovetailed experience enables us to work across all RIBA Stages, from conceptual thinking and feasibility studies to tender documentation and technical delivery, right down to the smallest of details delivered onsite. Through this collective skillset, we believe we can offer our clients a well-rounded, tailored design service.

We look to treat every scheme on its own merit; creating spaces that are truly unique to each project. With a combined passion for championing local designers/makers, and materials. This ethos builds on our core studio values around sustainability, and the positive impact our designs have on the wider built environment.

As a practice we continually look to challenge our own design thinking. We develop projects that are people focused, concentrating on the user journey and develop spaces that are not only thought provoking, but are adaptable to varying demographics and ever-changing social trends.
