Project Studio - Designing Stories Through Space

Project Studio was born out of a moment of clarity. In early 2022, with a young family and a career at a crossroads, our founder, Martin, took a long-held dream and turned it into a reality: to build a design practice shaped not just by experience, but by purpose.

With more than two decades immersed in interior design and architecture, Martin’s journey has woven through the design practices in both London and Manchester, where he was responsible for designing award-winning architecture and interiors. Along the way, he developed a particular passion for unlocking the hidden potential of existing buildings, breathing new life into spaces and allowing their stories to unfold in fresh and unexpected ways.

At Project Studio, every project begins with a conversation, not a drawing board. We listen, explore, and imagine, because design isn’t just about creating structures, it’s about crafting experiences. From the earliest concept and feasibility studies, through to technical delivery and on-site detailing, we work fluidly across all RIBA Stages, shaping ideas into places that feel personal, purposeful, and alive.

We treat each scheme as its own narrative, respecting its context, character, and community. Our ethos champions local designers, makers, and materials, grounding each project in its surroundings while looking ahead with a sustainable mindset.

Above all, we believe spaces should speak to people, guiding movement, sparking emotion, and evolving with time. By challenging traditional design thinking and focusing on the user journey, we create spaces that are not only beautiful but meaningful, adaptable, and responsive to the world around them.
